14th - A Trashy Meeting, 7:00 p.m. Ever wondered what happens to your trash and recycling once it leaves your home or business do you know, really know, what it means when you see a white cloud coming out of the incinerator’s “smoke” stack? Bill Davidson and others from the
Montgomery Department of Solid Waste will be at the library to
give a presentation and answer questions on issues related to trash
and recycling.

B-CC IWLA Conservation Scholarship Awards for PHS Students, May 22nd
The Bethesda-Chevy Chase Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America (B-CC IWLA) hosts a “conservation evening” showcasing six senior projects from the Poolesville High School Global Ecology Studies Program. Mark your calendar for Thursday, May 22, at 7:30 p.m. The event will be held at the B-CC Chapter at 20601 Izaak Walton Way, Poolesville. This is a great opportunity for the local community to come out and see how some of our high school students are involved in the conservation area.
The B-CC Chapter Conservation Committee, along with the Endowment Committee, is sponsoring a $500 scholarship award for each project. Students will have their projects set up and available for review at 7:00 p.m., and each will give a brief presentation starting at 7:30 p.m.
